As Taylor Swift might say, "Why We Can't Have Nice Things." This episode will provide a preliminary discussion of the Jan 15, 2025, update to the USCIS policy manual for EB-2 NIW.
Thanks for the podcast. Given these changes, which seemingly have been the controlling standard for a few months, which types of cases remain viable? Perhaps academia and government-funded researchers?
You ask a good question. The new guidance signals that pharma researchers could be well suited for EB-2 NIW and interestingly the day after the guidance we got a pharma case approved.
So healthcare and pharma and life sciences would seemingly be good areas. There are surely other areas but I think the expectations are the candidates must be more qualified.
So USCIS is going back to something like NYSDOT, the standard before DHANASAR.

Interesting, what about energy-related cases? Still seeing success there?
