This post will go through various ideas for an H-1B worker who is laid off while abroad:

  1. Is your H-1B travel visa valid?

  2. Can you “negotiate” with your employer?

  3. Do you have an option to return to the US via a spouse’s visa status?

  4. Can you look for a new H-1B job while abroad?

  5. Can you get a B visa or enter on ESTA/visa waiver?
